“Ser joven y no ser revolucionario es una contradicción
hasta biológica”… This is my favorite
sentence, among others, by Salvador Allende. He was born in 26 June 1908, in
Santiago of Chile and He was the first Marxist president in Chile in 3 November
1970, three years after, was overthrow for the military coup aimed at military board: José Merino, Gustavo Leigh, César Mendoza
Durán, Fernando Matthei, César Benavides, Julio Canessa, Santiago Sindair and…
Augusto Pinochet. The last person, would be the dictator of Chile for 17 years…
I don´t know much about him personal life, but I know he graduated from
Universidad de Chile in 1933 of medicine, and your political life would have started
in 1930 like FECH president.
In his government he was try stablish socialist state to generate 3
reforms that cost him his life: nationalized copper; agrarian reform and
education (free of charge from the university), social (food supplement
program) and sanitary reform (health facilities in working-class neighborhoods)
For him the community was very important, the change in the country should
start from in social topics, like: education, health, organization, democracy and
respect for we right and infancy.
